Geospatial Data and the National Information Exchange Model
The combination of the Open Geospatial Consortium’s GML standards and the National Information Exchange Model are currently being used to standardized information exchange with DHS, specifically in the Maritime Awareness Domain.

| Ms. Roy joined the DHS OCIO in December of 2006 as the Director of the Enterprise Data Management Office. As the EDMO Director, she is responsible for the data architecture of DHS, and is engaged in helping DHS lay the foundation and building blocks for an information sharing environment. She serves as the chair of the National Priority Exchange Panel (NPEP) for the National Information Exchange Model, a DOJ, DHS and Global Justice information sharing initiative.
Mr. Hoang works in the DHS OCIO as a member of the Enterprise Data Management Office where he architects national priority information exchanges via NIEM and geospatial data models for the DHS Geospatial Management Office. His expertise stems from seven years of hands-on XML experience coupled with a background in designing highly complex cross-enterprise collaborations. He has chaired XML standards development initiatives for NIEM, the US Intelligence Community, and GS1. |
