Gartner predicts that by 2008, more than 60 percent of enterprises will use SOA as a "guiding principle" when creating mission-critical applications and processes. Unfortunately, Gartner also cautions that "data management" is often overlooked in the SOA effort. This is disastrous because SOA is doomed to failure without an intelligent, comprehensive information management strategy focusing on data quality. In this presentation, the speakers will address key components of information management that include:
- Developing a governance model for managing data
- Defining standards and policies to ensure data quality
- The importance of meta data in understanding the enterprise data resources
- Developing rich enterprise data models that support centralized data management and information quality
