Conference Session
Level: Intermediate

This presentation is a case study examining the five year odyssey of four liberal arts majors who successfully created an institutional function for promoting information quality. A central focus for the presentation will be: on lessons learned, things to avoid, and tools we use to develop a stewardship mind-set across a globally decentralized and culturally diverse staff of 2,700 people. This tale includes:
- Top down acknowledgement of the risks from dirty data
- Results that established our credibility
- Debates about the organizational placement of the function
- Best practices, principles and methods that have built our reputation
