This presentation discusses an initial approach to one aspect of data quality via the use of a data profiling tool. How the tool was deemed necessary, what capabilities it provides, and what approaches are being taken to effectively use data profiling will be covered. Also covered will be the issue of information protection and its affects on quality assessments.

Speaker Bio
Harry Williford is a member of the Information Services Group at Allstate Insurance Company, working predominately on quality-related issues. He also has been active in DAMA and in The Business Rules Group. Currently, Harry is currently working on data quality issues discovered via data profiling and he is also working on developing a plan for establishing a Data Quality Center of Excellence.
