Assessing Data Quality of Externally Acquired Information
Thursday
2:15pm - 3:15pm Many industries rely on data obtained from partners or 3rd party vendors to support or augment their business intelligence content. This is especially true for the life sciences industry or and sales and marketing group that may not have access to product consumption information. A key challenge in such efforts has been the ability to timely and effectively assess the quality of externally acquired data, and present both the content and content quality to decision makers. In this case study, the presenters will discuss how an internal, business rule based application was designed to solve this business problem and how it is used to respond to file/data errors, assess data providers, and inform business users on quality of the content. |
