As data integration needs growing more complex and more real-time, achieving and sustaining data quality becomes even more daunting. This SIG will explore current best practices, including:
• Specifying data quality requirements
• Monitoring data quality over time

Speaker Bio

Jeff Monica has held a number of positions in his eight years at Sun Microsystems. He started out in the business as a program manager for product development. He then moving to Global Services as a program manager and then to Global information Systems to head up the Corporate Information Factory’s data quality team. Currently, as manager of the Corporate Information Factory he is responsible for leading a team to maintain and improve the data warehouse and ensure customer reporting requirements are met.

Shu-Shan Lau holds a Master of Science in Chemistry from UCLA and has been working in computer related fields for twenty years. Currently, she is an independent consultant. Her experience spans in many aspects of information systems including enterprise strategy planning, analysis, design, development, and implementation. She worked as an application architect and a data warehouse team lead at Aera Energy LLC. She was responsible for the back-end data warehouse delivery. Her passion has been to find ways to improve ETL data quality and processes.
