Wilshire Award Announcement

Wilshire Conferences would like to announce and congratulate Intel Corporation as the winner of this year's "Wilshire Award" for Meta Data Best Practices. There were a number of excellent candidates for this year's award, and the judging was very close, but ultimately Intel was chosen because of their long track record and measurable success. Kudos go to Intel's Chief Data Architect, Gregg Wyant, and his entire team for their excellent work. (here is the official announcement)

The links below will take you to the original Award nominations (submitted by the nominee company themselves) and also to the judges comments. This year's nomination process was more rigorous than in past years, in terms of requiring specific questions and issues to be addressed. Nonetheless, the judges comments are rather telling...and you will see from that they disagreed over the relative merits of many of the proposals. It seems that great meta data management is still as much an art as it is a science!

Our thanks go to all of the award finalists for the work they have put in to submitting their nominations, and responding to the judges questions. We hope that the nomination exercise itself may be useful in terms of improving and refining your future efforts.
