The BMO Financial Group views
information as a strategic asset and
should be managed with the same attention as human
and capital resources. Numerous information management (IM) initiatives
are underway to transform our Corporate Policy into implementable
standards, practices and processes.
From the beginning, our work has been grounded in metadata management. This presentation shows how metadata and governance work together.
Ron Klein is the lead Metadata practitioner at BMO Financial Group. He plays a leading role in enabling the organization to leverage the value of information assets by providing the facilities to determine what information the bank has, it’s meaning, where it is, how it got there and how to use the information asset. He consults, promotes and raises awareness regarding information sharing, reuse and information best practices. Previously, Ron led the Metadata initiatives at Thomson Corporation and Canadian Tire. Ron is currently Program Director at IRMAC-DAMA Toronto chapter.
