Case study of the successful implementation of an Enterprise Data Hub (master data and a data warehouse) used to integrate and share data across six divisions of a major pharmaceutical company operating in over 80 countries. The discussion will focus on the real world experience of implementing an effective enterprise-wide data management program in a company with little prior support for enterprise data sharing that was undergoing significant change and facing challenges on many fronts.

Mr. Gottwald has spent over 30 years in the pharmaceutical industry where he has held a variety of technical and management positions including data center management, server systems engineering, applications development, data administration, and enterprise architecture. He spent eight years implementing enterprise information architecture, application integration architecture and data warehousing strategy and architecture at a major global pharmaceutical company. Mr. Gottwald is currently responsible for data warehousing and business intelligence systems strategy at a major automotive manufacturer. He has a Bachelor of Arts from Indiana University and an MBA from Western Michigan University.
