(UK). He has been involved with business rules since introducing decision tables to IBM internal application development training in the late 1960's. His business rule focus has been on structured business vocabularies and requirements definition for large business information systems as a tools and methods consultant, facilitator, trainer, mentor, quality monitor, and business analysis project manager. Myles Chapman Currently, Myles Chapman is the Director for Data Management at Best Buy, Inc. The team consists of Data Analysts and Data Base Administrators. The Data Management team is primarily responsible for enterprise data architecture and database design and development. Myles is experienced in defining and deploying an Enterprise Data Architecture via the software development life-cycle. Malcolm Chisholm Malcolm Chisholm has over 20 years of experience in IT, and has worked mainly in the manufacturing, finance, government, and insurance sectors. During all of this time he has been heavily involved in data administration, with particular emphasis on reference data and metadata management. Additionally he has worked extensively in building business rules engines, with techniques that utilize the metadata and reference data captured by data administrators. Malcolm has published a number of articles and two books: "Managing Reference Data in Enterprise Databases" (Morgan Kaufmann, 2000), and "How to Build A Business Rules Engine" (Morgan Kaufmann, 2003). Fran Clark Fran Clark has spent the last 20 years on a professional mission: perfecting the secure, speedy and semantic exchange and representation of information both within and between businesses. His quest has taken him through technical leadership positions at Wheelhouse Corporation, Epsilon Data Management, Intel, Boston Gas, University of Vermont, UNUM and John Hancock; and into enterprise projects for clients such as GTE, IBM, and General Electric. Today, Clark defines and builds Swingtide’s core technology infrastructure, including managing a team of developers, programmers and QA professionals. He earned his BS in Biology and Psychology from Boston College. William Clark Janie Corbett Janie Corbett has managed and consulted in all aspects of information technology for over 35 years spending the last six years in stewardship. Janie is currently a Senior Systems Consultant in Information Stewardship for Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield Southeast Region in Richmond, VA and an Adjunct Professor of Information Technology at Rappahannock Community College in Glenns, VA. Janie was very instrumental in the creation of the Information Stewardship program at Anthem. Christine Craven I have worked at Abbey for 14 years in IT, programme management and information management. Before that I worked for the Mars Group. The last 4 years of my career have been devoted to Information Management within Abbey and as a result the organisation now has a customer information architecture, information management control framework (including information ownership) and a robust and in depth view of all customers holding relationships. I received an Abbey 'Special Achievement' award for these deliveries in 2001 and won a 'Wilshire Meta Data Award' in 2003 (the only organisation outside the US to receive one) Chris Date Chris Date is an independent author, lecturer, researcher, and consultant, specializing in relational database technology. He is best known for his book An Introduction to Database Systems (seventh edition published in 2000), which has sold well over 650,000 copies and is used by several hundred colleges and universities worldwide. Mr. Date enjoys a reputation that is second to none for his ability to communicate complex technical subjects in a clear and understandable fashion Marie DeRatto Marie DeRatto works in Research Information for Merck Research Laboratories. She is presently doing work both as an information architect and as a steward for a large document management system. Marie has extensive experience in the area of content management, having managed several projects involving the design and installation of document management systems for pharmaceutical companies. She is also familiar with regulatory issues and has worked with regulatory and legal departments to ensure system compliance with both internal and external regulations, as well as meeting user and technical needs. Simon Dunford Simon is a member of a small UK Industry/UK Ministry of Defence Task Force that is responsible for facilitating phases 1 and 2 of the Secure Collaboration Framework work. Simon is President of the UK Chapter of DAMA, as well as being an e-business integration executive for the UK military division of Rolls-Royce. Jill Dyché Prior to co-founding Baseline, Jill worked for technology luminaries Teradata and Computer Associates. She helped grow Baseline into an international systems integration and management consulting firm. Jill has helped develop customer information strategies at notables like Verizon, American Express, Bank One, and The Gap. Jills first book, e-Data (Addison Wesley, 2000) has been published in six languages. Her latest book, The CRM Handbook (Addison Wesley, 2002), is the bestseller on the topic. Larry Dziedzic Larry Dziedzic is a Technology Manager with Johnson & Johnson in New Brunswick, NJ. Larry is responsible for supporting global data standardization, as well as consulting on process and modeling standards for the worldwide Consumer group. This includes supporting data standardization of global ERP applications, defining data stewardship functions and interfacing with the worldwide Pharmaceutical and Medical Devices and Diagnostic groups. Larry has presented papers at both DAMA International and DAMA US events last year. He has also presented internationally at the Enterprise Data Management Conference in Sydney, Australia. Gordon Everest Gordon Everest is a professor of MIS and DBMS in the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota since 1970. He is the author of the text "Database Management: Objectives, System Functions, and Administration" (McGraw-Hill). Besides teaching, he has conducted research on various approaches to database design, and helped many organizations and government agencies design their databases. His approach transfers expertise to professional data architects within those organizations by having them participate in and observe the conduct of database design project meetings with the subject matter experts. George Flanagin George Flanagin is the CIO of buySAFE, and a partner in Bright-Crayon, LLC. He is a technology professional with 25 years of experience in the design, delivery, and business management of IT products. He has developed and managed the production of several well known commercial software products, and his career includes major periods of employment with Boeing Defense and Space Group and Hewlett-Packard Labs. Mr. Flanagin is the author of more than a dozen articles and papers on IT subjects, and he is a frequent speaker at international conferences. Joshua Fox Joshua Fox serves as Senior Software Architect at Unicorn Solutions. Fox works on the Unicorn System, a platform for enterprise information management. conferences over that last decade. Jim Fulton Dr. Fulton is an Associate Technical Fellow at The Boeing Company, specializing in the development and integration of computing application. A key player in Boeing’s selection of standard integration technology, he now supports several integration projects in applying that technology. Sean Goggins Sean Goggins is a journeyman software and data management professional with 15 years of very diverse experience. Mr. Goggins has defined metadata management and data integration strategies for product development and manufacturing system integration in the medical device and consumer products industries. He has also worked with computational biologists on the definition of logical data models to support the mapping of the Bovine and Porcine genomes. Michael Gorman Michael M. Gorman has been involved in data processing, database and DBMS for 35 years. He has been secretary of the ANSI NCITS H2 Technical Committee on Database for over 22 years. He was the Federal Database Product Manager for the Computer Sciences Corporation. Mike authored Yourdon's database project and database administration courses. He also was a member of The MITRE Corporation's technical staff and the conference and program manager for MITRE's Data Management conference. Mr. Gorman has published articles for IDC, Auerbach, Computer World and several ACM journals. He has published database and DBMS books through Q.E.D. Information Sciences and John Wiley and Sons. Paul Grant David Grube David Grube is an information architect for Merck Research Laboratories. David has extensive experience in data and database analysis, design, and implementation across the telecommunications, media, manufacturing, and pharmaceutical industries. In addition to his industry experience, David holds the MS in Computer Science degree from Lehigh University, and is an Adjunct professor in the Information and Computing Sciences. Terry Haas Terry Haas is responsible for managing customer data and providing analysis of sales and profitability information worldwide for Air Products and Chemicals, Inc. Prior to assuming this role Mr. Haas led the reengineering of the two primary customer contact centers for the company and then managed each. He managed Chemicals Customer Service and Inside Sales for five years and the Gases Group Customer Service and Logistics center for seven years before assuming the current global role. Terry Halpin Dr. Terry Halpin is Distinguished Professor and Vice President (Conceptual Modeling) at Northface University. After many years in academia, he worked on data modeling technology at Asymetrix Corporation, InfoModelers Inc., Visio Corporation, and Microsoft Corporation, before returning to academia to develop data models and curricula to facilitate application development using a business rules approach to informatics. Deborah Henderson Deborah Henderson, B.Sc., M.L.S., P.M.P, chairs the DAMAI Curriculum Committee and is Vice President Data Management International (DAMAI) Education and Special Projects. 1999 -). Baden Hughes Baden Hughes is a Research Associate in the Department of Computer Science and Software Engineering at the University of Melbourne. He has tertiary qualifications in linguistics, natural language processing, information technology and computer science. Michele Johnson Captain Johnson is the Program Manager for the Table Management Distribution System (TMDS), a unique, on-line information system that supports the centralized control, maintenance, and distribution of reference data, thereby ensuring the integrity and consistency of corporate data throughout AMC. In addition, Captain Johnson is responsible for managing the integration of AMC command and control systems with United States Transportation Command assets and establishing data standardization and integration policy and procedures. Denis Kosar I have been in IT for over 31 years and have held various management positions in the areas of applications development, Systems Programming and Data Management.
