DAMA International and the Institute for Certification of Computing Professionals (ICCP) have been working on new data oriented specialty exams. Currently, DAMA International is in the process of designing a new Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP-Mastery and CDMP-Practitioner) designation that would use the ICCP exams for the appropriate data oriented job category.
Certification
Exam Requirements
Two specialization exams, one of which must be a Data exam plus the IT
Core exam are required for the CDMP. The CDMP-Mastery requires a score
of 70% or better in the Core exam, plus one Data exam and another ICCP
specialty exam. The CDMP-Practitioner requires a score of 50% or better
in the Core exam, plus one Data exam and another ICCP specialty exam.
Up to 24 months of college credit can substitute for the experience requirement
of four years, and recertification is required.
ICCP Course
and Exams at this Conference
At this conference, the intensive review on Monday, May 3, prepares candidates
to take the ICCP exams to qualify for the CDMP. The exams being offered
on Tuesday, May 4 and Wednesday, May 5, include the IT Core, Data Resource
Management, Data Warehousing, IT Management, and Systems Development (other
ICCP exams can be requested). It is anticipated that two new data oriented
exams will be ready for release at this conference: Data Management and
Database Administration. All exams are vendor and product neutral.
Each exam tests a candidate’s knowledge and understanding of industry fundamentals. By taking this review course, candidates could achieve up to a 30% higher score on the exams (percentage based on test scores from previous exams).
