CA Advantage Repository Users,
For those of you that can't attend CA World this year, but are planning to go to the 2002 DAMA/Meta-Data conference in San Antonio at the end of April, we have good news! The PRUG executive board has been working with CA to host a repository user group meeting following the end of the DAMA/Meta-Data conference. It will be a half day on Thursday afternoon at the convention center where the DAMA/Meta-Data sessions are being held and a full day on Friday, probably at the Hilton which is across from the convention center. We tried this approach for the first time last year at the end of the DAMA/Meta-Data conference in Anaheim and it was very well received. We're currently working on putting together an agenda in the next week or two. We have a commitment from the repository development team and product owners to attend from CA. We're tentatively planning on having them present information on the future and direction of the repository product in general, details on futures for both the MVS and OEE versions, and present an open panel discussion on any topic or question related to the repository and metadata management. In addition, we're looking to have user presentations on experiences they've had with repository administration, metadata collection, and metadata access. CA developers will also be available to answer questions and provide input on what features of the repository could be leveraged to support your efforts in these areas.
Here's a chance to attend sessions on metadata management and the CA Advantage Repository products and interface with other repository users at the same conference. Whether you're just looking at the repository, starting to use it at your company, or are an experienced user of the repository, there will be something for you. If you can't attend the DAMA/Meta-Data conference, but would like to attend the PRUG meeting on Thursday and Friday, feel free to come on those days. PRUG Registration is free. Lunch will be provided on Friday by CA.
To find out more information, please contact me. If I don't know the answer, I'll find out and get back to you. Right now, we're looking to get an estimate of how many are interested in attending the May 2-3 meeting as soon as possible, so that we can plan for the
room and refreshments. If you have more specific topics you would like to see covered either by CA or by repository users or if you would be willing to do a user presentation yourself, please let me know as soon as possible as well. I'm also looking for questions or issues that you would like to see discussed by the panel of repository developers. We would like to tailor the meeting to what's of interest and concern to you so that you can get the most value from attending and having access to product developers and repository users. There will also be time to network with other repository users as well as the repository developers from CA. To register for the national PRUG meeting, please complete the information below and email it to me. This is independent of your registration for the DAMA/Wilshire Meta-Data Conference which is being handled by Wilshire Conferences. If you know of anyone that would be interested in attending, please forward this to them. You do not have to be a PRUG member or currently have the CA Advantage repository to attend. Hope to see you there!
