Best Practices Award Highlights World-Class Meta Data Management 

LOS ANGELES --(BUSINESS WIRE)—April 15, 2002—Wilshire Conferences, Inc. today announced that the RBC Financial Group (RBC) is the winner if the inaugural Wilshire Award for Meta Data Best Practices.  The award was co-sponsored by the leading data management publication, DM Review. 

The award was made after an extensive, three-month submission and evaluation procedure, judged by an eminent panel of judges from the data management industry.  Presentation of the Award will take place on May 1, 2002 at the Wilshire Meta-Data Conference, in San Antonio, Texas.  

RBC was judged the winner of the award because of the organization’s leadership in a number of key areas of meta data application and management, the overall scope of its implementation, and the length of time they have been successful with their meta data strategy (since 1993).  The judges credit RBC for setting an example for the rest of the industry and for a “proof of concept” project that truly demonstrates the value of a well-designed and implemented meta data strategy. 

Additional awards of high commendation were given to the following organizations:  Prudential Financial, Allstate Insurance, and BellSouth.
